ICTS ROLE PROFILERole TitleRelief Security OfficerDepartmentCorporate SecurityReports toDuty Shift ManagerHours12-hour shiftsLocationBelfastJob OverviewThe main responsibilities are to be familiar with emergency procedures for actions to be taken in the event of fire, bomb threat, flood and plant failure etc. To carry out access control according to the Assignment Instruction and operate in compliance with all Company and client requirements.This is an ad hoc position covering annual leave and absence, hours of work may vary but shift patterns are normally 12 hours duration, covering Monday - Sunday. However, as part of a small team you will need to be flexible to support your colleagues.Principal AccountabilitiesManaging access control for buildings and car parks - for employees, visitors and contractorsPatrolling the buildings, car parks and grounds to deter and detect problemsResponding to customer requests and queriesChecking and challenging ID passes with a professional and friendly approachDe-activating and activating alarms, and unlocking and locking buildings, rooms, external barriers and gates to ensure that no unauthorised personnel or hazards are on site.Identifying and reporting Health & Safety issues and carrying out first aid if necessary.Maintaining records including incident reports using computer- and paper-based systemsPresent a suitable image to uphold the Clients prestige by always dealing professionally with people.Respond to requests for assistance.Will be standing behind the barriers visually verifying the authorised identity of staff(s) as they enter the premises.Whilst on post will remain vigilant and present a welcoming atmosphere to staff and visitors entering the building.To be thoroughly conversant with telephone, alarm, IT systems, firefighting, CCTV and any other systems or equipment used in the course of duty.Have a comprehensive working knowledge of assignment instructions complete with all current amendments and temporary additions.To detect and prevent any occurrences that may lead to loss by fire, flood, plant failure, theft, vandalism or any other form of crime.To detect and prevent situations that may lead to an accident or personal injury and to ensure that any such situation is promptly reported.Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:Strong customer service skills and experienceExcellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skillsThe ability to remain calm and professional under pressureGood IT and administration skillsSeven years' checkable history and referencesAn SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) license is essential.To pass a criminal records check (CRC) to the required standardsEffective decision makingGood working knowledge of security and fire systemsPrevious experience of conducting audits and preparing client reportsExcellent knowledge of GDPR and the use of personal dataDesired:A First Aid at Work qualificationAn SIA CCTV (PSS) LicenceFull training, uniform and health and safety equipment are provided, and you will also have access to:• Personal Pension Scheme• Health Insurance Scheme• Discount shopping platform• Employee Assistance Programme• Cycle to Work SchemeEstablished in 1987, ICTS specialises in the provision of integrated security and customer services within the most demanding environments.
