Job Role: Remedials/Reactive HGV Drainage Engineer
Location: Gravesend, Kent
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Hours: Monday-Friday 08.00-18:00 (flexibility required)
Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Interaction recruitment has partnered with a nationwide infrastructure maintenance and sustainability company. Due to their exponential success and growth, they're actively seeking to onboard a drainage tanker operative with a HGV licence. The Duties

  • Operate a jet vac combi unit up to 26 tonnes to complete reactive and remedial works.
  • Maintain the vehicle and all associated equipment to the highest standards.
  • Carry out vacuum tanker operations and wastewater management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety policies, including safe systems of work for reactive HGV drainage operations.
  • Attend reactive jobs promptly as they are assigned.
  • Perform descale works on below-ground drainage systems, including line cleaning, root cutting, and confined space entry operations.
  • Empty and maintain external grease traps.
  • Undertake extensive tanker extraction works across foul and surface water systems, pump stations, and petrol interceptors.
  • Work alongside CCTV & Drainage teams to support surveys, inspections, fault finding, and detailed investigative works—providing practical solutions for client needs.
  • Assist specialist teams with lining, patching, and rehabilitation works.

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum one year of experience in the drainage industry.
  • Holds a Class 2 HGV licence as a minimum requirement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Open to flexible working hours, sometimes as early as 2am and the occasional overnight stays.
