Turing is seeking PhD-level researchers in Chemistry to evaluate the reasoning capabilities of large language models (LLMs). Your role will involve creating chemistry problems, analyzing model responses, and identifying logical or understanding gaps. The aim is to assess how effectively these models handle abstract thinking and structured problem-solving.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Designing chemistry problems, reviewing AI solutions, and providing insights into the model's understanding of complex reasoning and logical steps.
- Example tasks include calculating equilibrium concentrations in a high-temperature coal gasifier, developing reactor models for gas-phase reactions, and similar analytical challenges.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in or completed a Ph.D. or Postdoctoral in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related fields.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to give clear, constructive feedback with examples.
- Excellent written communication, especially in remote settings.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Stable computer and internet access.
Note: This position is exclusively for candidates with a Ph.D. or current pursuit of one. Applications from others will not be considered.
Time Commitment & Contract Details:
- Minimum of 4 hours daily, at least 20 hours per week with a 4-hour overlap with PST. Options include 20, 30, or 40 hours per week.
