Research Assistant - UK Social Policy

New Yesterday

Ecorys is an international, research-based consultancy dedicated to making a positive societal impact. We excel in research, evaluation, project management, and communications, providing essential evidence and advice to our clients worldwide. Our team of 600 staff takes pride in our innovative contributions to policy and program delivery, and we are committed to environmental and social responsibility through charitable donations, volunteering, and maintaining carbon neutrality.

What you will be doing

Our UK-based Policy and Research team is seeking emerging research talent to join our group of over 100 specialists. You will support various projects involving qualitative and quantitative research, evaluations, impact assessments, dissemination activities, and monitoring for our diverse client base.

We are particularly interested in junior researchers with a passion for UK social and economic policy areas such as environment, education, children, youth and families, health, crime and justice, local economic development, and financial inclusion. Additional expertise in other UK policy areas is a plus.

As a Research Assistant, you will develop skills in desk research, literature reviews, survey design, interviews, and data analysis using software like Excel, MAXQDA, and R. Opportunities for growth include client engagement, business development, specialization in qualitative or quantitative methods, and impact or economic evaluation. Some UK travel may be required.

Our recent projects have involved evaluating government programs across environment, education, and youth sectors, providing technical learning and career progression towards roles like Research Manager.

We aim for you to start in any of our UK offices in 2025, ideally by autumn. Your development will be supported through training, mentoring, and regular reviews, with guidance from a dedicated line manager and a buddy.

Our collaborative culture fosters growth and fulfillment, supported by staff networks and wellbeing activities, including paid volunteering days for our charity partners.

What we will need from you

We offer a competitive benefits package, including salary, bonuses, flexible working, and wellbeing initiatives. Our hybrid work model typically involves 2-3 days in the office and 1-2 days remote. To apply, send your CV and cover letter by August 22, 2025, indicating your preferred location and availability. Early applications are encouraged.
