HCA Healthcare UK at The Princess Grace Hospital are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Resident Doctor to join our Acute Medicine service. This role is ideal for post-MRCP clinicians looking to consolidate their acute medical expertise and gain high-quality experience in a world-class private healthcare setting before progressing into specialty training.
What you will do
To support the Consultant led team by attending to the day-to-day medical needs of the medical inpatients at The Princess Grace Hospital.
To clerk new and unplanned admissions to a high standard using the medical clerking proforma and in line with the hospital's one hour pathway for acute medicine.
To prepare for a twice day Consultant ward round-to understand the active problems for each patient, to plan investigations and report key results and ensure accurate documentation of the management plan and outcome from the consultant WR.
Be part of the daily MDT - to come prepared with accurate social history for each patient, set discharge plans and dates alongside AHP. Ensure this information is communicated on the consultant WR so we achieve a seamless patient journey. To be proactive in gaining background and collateral history.
To attend acutely unwell and deteriorating medical patients and be confident in an A-E assessment. To escalate these patients to the attention of the medical consultant and critical care team in a timely manner and be confident in asking for help.
To deliver medical procedures such as venepuncture, IV cannulation, ABGs, catheterisation.
To interpret medical investigations-routine blood tests, ECG, Blood Gas, radiology and communicate results to Consultants.
To prepare a discharge summary for each medical patient using the hospital template. This needs to be an accurate record of the patient's diagnosis and management whilst an inpatient and reflect key investigation results, acute and chronic management plans and any medication changes and ongoing care and follow up plans.
Create and maintain an up to date medical inpatient list. This list is a vital document that is the foundation of our handover, verbal presentation of the patient's history and discharge summary and so must be accurately updated at least once a day.
To comply with the hospital's clinical governance framework including the reporting of incidents and the complaints procedures
Comply with all hospital policies and procedures in particular those related to health and safety at work.
What You Will Bring
GMC Registration and License to Practice in the UK
Completed Foundation Years training and additionally at minimum IMT-2 + or equivalent experience.
Completion of Full MRCP Required.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care within a high-performing private healthcare environment.
