Salary: £26,668.20 per year (without NVQ Level 3)
£29,931.20 per year (with a relevant NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare)
£75 sleep-in allowance

About the Role We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and committed Residential Childcare Workers to join our Ofsted-regulated childrens home, operating within a trauma- informed practice model. You will support children and young people with complex needs, helping them feel safe, valued, and empowered. This is a full-time position, and you will be required to work a mix of shifts to suit the needs of the home. The role includes weekends, bank holidays, and Christmas. Flexibility is essentialthere may be occasions where you are required to stay beyond your shift to support the children or team during incidents.
Your Role
Build safe, trusting relationships with children through consistent,
patient care.
Support young people in their day-to-day lives: from mealtimes and routines to education and leisure
Work therapeutically to help children process trauma and develop emotional regulation.
Manage challenging behaviour with compassion and professionalism, using restorative and relational approaches.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and team meetings.
Provide a stable adult presence, acting as a positive role model and advocate.

What Were Looking For
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Level 3 Diploma NVQ in Residential Childcare
OR
At least two years experience working as a Residential Childcare Worker and be
willing to complete a Level 3 NVQ Residential Childcare diploma in Residential Child
care.

You should also be:
Passionate about supporting children who have experienced trauma.
Emotionally resilient and calm under pressure.
Be able to build trusting, nurturing relationships.
Promote the safety and well-being of children at all times.
A strong communicator and effective team player.
Accurately document and maintain records in line with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
Flexible, reliable, and committed to the needs of children.
Able to work within a structured, therapeutic environment.
Contribute to the day-to-day running of the home, including cooking,
cleaning, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
Work collaboratively with parents/carers and professionals to support holistic care.
The role is subject to enhanced DBS clearance for children and vulnerable adults.

Shift Patterns :
Flexibility is key, as shifts include weekends, sleep-ins, and bank holidays (including Christmas, New Year and Easter).
Examples of shift patterns are:
Sleep-in Shift: 14H00p.m. 00:00- Sleep-in- 07h00a.m.15H00p.m. (following day)
Late Shifts: 14H00p.m. 22H00 p.m. and 12h00p.m. 20H00p.m.
Morning Shifts: 08h00 a.m.16H00 p.m.; 09h00 a.m. 17H00p.m. and 10h00a.m. to18H00p.m.
Core Shifts : 10:00a.m. to 10H00p.m.
