Job Description

A leading City law firm with a top-tier, internationally recognised restructuring and insolvency practice is seeking a high-calibre mid–senior associate to join its London team.

The practice is known for advising on some of the most complex and high-profile restructurings in the market, with particular strength acting for financial creditors and major stakeholders on large-cap, cross-border mandates.


The Role

You will play a central role on sophisticated restructuring matters, working in lean teams alongside highly regarded partners. The work will include:

  • Large-scale, multi-jurisdictional financial restructurings
  • Creditor-led mandates, including advising banks, funds and ad hoc groups
  • Complex liability management exercises and strategic advisory work
  • Formal insolvency processes, including administrations and schemes/restructuring plans
  • Distressed and special situations involving intricate capital structures

You can expect significant responsibility, regular client contact, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to strategy and execution on headline matters.


Candidate Profile

  • England & Wales qualified
  • 4–7 years’ PQE (guideline only; strong candidates outside this range will be considered)
  • Trained and qualified at a leading City or international firm
  • Strong experience in complex restructuring and insolvency matters, ideally with creditor-side exposure
  • Excellent technical skills and a strong academic background
  • Commercially focused, proactive and confident working in high-performing teams
