This is a full-time retail sales assistant and barista role within a luxury speciality retail environment in Knightsbridge. Rifai specialises in premium nuts, dry goods, and pre-packed products, alongside coffee and hot beverages. The role is ideal for candidates with a guest experience mindset, who enjoy delivering personalised service, building customer relationships, and working to luxury service standards in a front-of-house retail setting. There is no kitchen work and no food cooking involved. Key responsibilities Greet, welcome, and engage customers in a warm, professional, and attentive manner, creating a positive first impression.
Deliver a high standard of guest experience, understanding customer needs and offering tailored product recommendations.
Guide customers through their purchase journey, from product selection to payment.
Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently.
Use cross-selling and up-selling techniques to increase average basket value while maintaining a natural and service-led approach.
Work towards individual monthly sales targets and contribute to overall store performance.
Prepare and serve coffee and hot beverages to company standards.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the shop floor, coffee area, shelves, tables, and equipment at all times.
Ensure the shop is merchandised in line with Rifai merchandising guidelines.
Support accurate stock control, replenishment, and inventory checks.
Stay alert to security risks and help prevent theft or loss.
Maintain strong product knowledge, including promotions, payment methods, and exchange policies.
Build customer loyalty through consistent service and, where required, support customer database updates.
Represent the brand at all times by following company image standards, including hygiene, uniform, and professional appearance.
Previous experience in retail sales and barista work is required.
Experience in luxury retail, FMCG, fashion, or hospitality, including roles such as waiter or front-of-house staff in hotels or premium venues.
A guest-focused approach, with confidence in engaging customers and delivering personalised service.
Ability to prepare coffee and hot drinks confidently and consistently.
Strong customer service skills with a polite, professional, and calm manner.
Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
Ability to work well as part of a team and follow procedures.
Good time management and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Notes Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
The role is based on 8-hour shifts with a 1-hour break.
Two days off per week, with rota planning in advance.
The position is based in Knightsbridge, London.
Languages Fluent English is required, spoken and written.
Additional languages are an advantage, particularly Arabic, French, or Italian, due to the international and luxury customer base in Knightsbridge.
