Solicitor – Court of Protection (Retrain Opportunity)

£35,000 – £40,000 DOE

I’m currently working with a well-established and supportive law firm in South Manchester who are looking to appoint a Solicitor into their growing Court of Protection team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Solicitor looking to retrain into Court of Protection, with full support, structured training, and exposure to high-quality work from day one.

The Role

You will join a specialist team handling a range of Court of Protection matters, with a focus on supporting vulnerable clients and managing their financial affairs.

The firm is open to candidates from a range of backgrounds and will provide full training and ongoing supervision to support your transition into this area.

Responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the management of deputyship files

Supporting clients who lack capacity with financial decision-making

Liaising with families, care providers, and third parties

Preparing applications to the Court of Protection

Handling day-to-day file management and client communication

Gradually building your own caseload as you develop

About You

Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent)

Open to retraining into Court of Protection / Private Client work

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Empathetic and client-focused approach

Ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism

Previous experience in litigation, personal injury, family, or private client is beneficial but not essential

What’s on Offer

Salary between £35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
