The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Retrofit Assessor to join a growing sustainability team, supporting the delivery of energy efficiency upgrades across social housing properties.
This is a field-based role covering Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, where you’ll play a key part in assessing properties and contributing to funded retrofit schemes in line with PAS 2035 standards.
What you’ll be doing
* Conduct retrofit assessments and EPCs across residential properties
* Arrange appointments with residents and ensure access is obtained
* Capture detailed survey data, including photographic evidence
* Accurately complete and upload assessment documentation within internal systems
* Lodge EPCs in line with regulatory requirements
* Work closely with Retrofit Coordinators and design teams on property archetypes
* Collaborate with site teams and Resident Liaison Officers to align with programme delivery
* Ensure all assessments are compliant with PAS 2035 guidelines
* Identify suitable energy efficiency measures based on property condition
* Highlight risks such as damp, mould, and structural or building pathology concerns
* Support the wider team by feeding back accurate and timely assessment data
* Attend training sessions and team meetings as required
What we’re looking for
* Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification
* Level 3 in Domestic Retrofit Assessment
* Level 3 Certificate in Retrofitting Traditional Buildings
* Previous experience carrying out residential retrofit assessments
* Strong understanding of building construction types and common defects
* Knowledge of PAS 2035 legislation and retrofit processes
* Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel daily
