Our Finance team is responsible for ensuring accurate financial operations and plays a crucial role in managing the Firms financial health. Our team handles a wide range of financial activities including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, partner compensation, payroll, treasury and cash flow management to support the Firms strategic goals. We are responsible for inventory management including billing and collections, and analysis of client, matter and timekeeper profitability. We oversee statutory accounting and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. The Finance team also prepares financial statements, reports and analysis to provide insights into the Firms financial performance. We work closely with other functions to monitor expenses, optimize financial processes and implement cost-saving initiatives. Through meticulous financial management and strategic planning, the Finance team ensures the Firms financial stability and supports its growth objectives.The Manager, Core Finance plays an important role in supporting the strategic objectives. With an operational and tactical focus, this role contributes to strategic decision making. In-depth specialist advice and counsel will be provided to the business, utilising comprehensive knowledge of own discipline to address complex issues and challenges, thus enabling business leaders to make effective decisions.The roles and responsibilities of this job include:Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of Core Finance to address complex issues and challenges without clear precedentProvides in-depth specialist advice to the business on Core Finance topics and policies, such as credit management, payment terms, and cash flow optimisationMay lead as a project manager, providing technical knowledge and specialized expertise in Core Finance disciplines to help enact change and implement finance-related initiativesServes as an escalated point of contact within the team, taking on complex Core Finance queries and cases, and providing insights and recommendations to resolve issues fairly and efficientlyCollaborates with teams across the business to successfully implement Core Finance programs and initiatives, adhering to the standard of operational excellence within the teamProvides support in addressing and resolving complex issues relating to Core Finance Processing, Payroll or Partner CompensationManagers at this level will lead one or more teams of supervisors and/or professionals and coordinators, managing operations within a designated area or departmentIndividual contributors at this level will lead projects within a broader initiative, providing technical guidance and setting priorities for the team as well as reviewing the work of othersEngaging in operational and tactical activities, contributing to and supporting decision-making within the team/Sub-FunctionSubject matter expert, possessing advanced and specialized expertise in the discipline, including methodologies, processes and able to address atypical issues within own fieldManaging small professional and/or defined delivery teams across regional and global offices, impacting business primarily through professional or technical contributions to an area of specialtyAbility to think critically and analytically, leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvementGood analytical and problem-solving skillsGood communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at various levels of the FirmBachelor's degree or equivalent through experience/relevant certifications where appropriate to the disciplineThis role reports toChief Financial OfficerEqual OpportunitiesWhite & Case is committed to creating a fair workplace.
