About The Business Unit Mott MacDonald’s Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers both project, programme & commercial management (PPCM) services and advisory solutions across the built environment, defence, energy, water, environmental, transportation, health and care sectors. Join our award‑winning Risk team We’re looking for talented risk management professionals to shape and safeguard complex Construction and Infrastructure projects across a range of dynamic sectors — including Transport, Defence, Water, Buildings, and Energy. Key Responsibilities And Duties
Undertake assurance reviews of risk deliverables and methodologies to confirm conformance to best practice. Experience informing the development of Business Cases, Investment Decisions and Appraisals, including assuring the quality of risk evidence. Work as a consultant within a client environment, embedding expertise into their teams. Coach, develop and supervise project staff and share knowledge and expertise. Build strong relationships with clients, teams and stakeholders. Strong stakeholder management experience.
Candidate specification Essential
Implement risk management processes aligned with ISO31000/Institute of Risk Management/Association of Project Management methodologies on complex Construction and Infrastructure projects. Initiate, develop and implement risk management processes. Facilitate risk workshops as part of the overall delivery of the risk process. Conduct regular risk reviews to maintain a project risk register and ensure that the project risk profile is accurate and current. Undertake quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis techniques. Produce appropriate risk management reports to inform decision making. Awareness of industry risk management tools such as ARM, Xactium, Primavera Risk Analysis, SafranRisk, @Risk, Risk Predict! Understand how risk management integrates with other Project Management and Project Controls disciplines including cost estimating, project planning and contract administration. Implement effective risk management activities to actively reduce risk exposure and uncertainty on projects & programmes. Support development and implementation of risk management approaches/systems for clients, incorporating best practice and procedures. Facilitate workshops and engage with project teams to ensure effective implementation of risk management. Work closely with planners to understand delivery expectations, identify potential risks and link risks to schedule activities.
Desirable
Good research and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication and organisation skills. Effective listening, persuasion, collaborative style, leadership, flexibility, self-motivation, creativity and insightfulness. Computer literacy in Microsoft applications.
