Our client, a leading name in the UK's roadside repair industry, is seeking a highly skilled Roadside Vehicle Technician to join their team in Newport and the surrounding region. Typical 40-hour week, with 8-hour shifts; working hours are discussed in advance, with shifts scheduled between 6:00 am and 12:00 pm.
Minimal weekend work maximum of 1 in 2 weekends, with a day off in lieu if working weekends.
Duties:
Respond to roadside breakdown assistance requests across Newport and the surrounding region.
Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues, from small city cars to 4x4s and everything in between.
Work independently using a fully equipped company van.
Provide exceptional customer service, often assisting customers in stressful situations.
Perform mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic repairs on diverse vehicle types.
Maintain accurate records and demonstrate methodical, organised work habits.
Represent our client professionally at all times, providing a friendly and calm demeanour.
Candidate Specification:
At least IMI/NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic experience on various vehicles.
Valid UK driving licence with minimal points.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Organised, methodical, and capable of managing workload effectively.
Friendly, approachable personality with excellent communication skills.
Prior roadside assistance or breakdown repair experience is desirable but not essential.
