About the Role
A leading organisation within the UK energy sector is seeking a Safety Policy Lead with a focus on the Electrical industry, to support and advance electrical and operational safety across a critical national infrastructure environment.
This role focuses on delivering safety programmes, influencing industry standards, and engaging with senior stakeholders across industry, government, and regulators to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate operational and electrical safety programmes and initiatives.
* Support safety committees, working groups, and provide secretariat support.
* Contribute to safety standards, policy development, and technical guidance.
* Manage safety data, reporting, and documentation control.
* Act as a key contact for internal and external safety matters.
* Engage with regulators, government, and industry stakeholders.
* Represent the organisation at meetings, events, and industry forums.
* Coordinate projects, workshops, communications, and safety campaigns.
About You
You have strong experience in the energy or utilities sector, with a solid understanding of electrical safety/network operations. You are confident engaging senior stakeholders, highly organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
You communicate complex information clearly and can influence without direct authority.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* 5+ years' experience in energy or utilities.
* NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of electrical safety and network operations.
* Understanding of UK regulatory frameworks.
* Project coordination and strong communication skills.
* Stakeholder engagement and influencing.
Desirable:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
* Experience with standards, policy, or digital content
