The appointee will also have the opportunity in the future totake part in leading on key disease areas (monitoring trends in treatment,staff training and prescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcareservices for a diverse, patient list. Our two purpose-built, modern premises are located in Harehills and Moortown. All clinicians work across both sites, promoting collaboration and shared expertise. The team includes: 4 GP Partners and 1 ANP Partner GP Registrars Pharmacy Technician and prescribing team 5 Practice Nurses 4 Health Care Assistants An administration and reception team led by an experienced practice manager Our multidisciplinary model allows GPs to focus on clinical care while benefiting from a rich educational environment. Job responsibilities Job Description Reporting to: Senior GPPartner Hours of work: Full time / Part time Contract type: Permanent Role summary: Thepost-holder will provide general medical services managing a caseload and dealwith a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring thehighest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients Location: You would be expected to workacross both sites in Harehills and Moortown Annual leave: Six weeks annual leave pluspublic/ bank holidays (pro rata) Study leave: One week per annum, included inannual leave allowance. Salary: Negotiableand in line with tier progression model, depending on qualifications andexperience Main purpose of the role: To support the Partners to managea varied and interesting clinical caseload. The appointee will also have theopportunity in the future to take part in leading on key disease areas(monitoring trends in treatment, staff training and prescribing) and assist indeveloping appropriate healthcare services for a diverse, patient list. Clinical responsibilities: Inaccordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will makehim/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgeryconsultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging,checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patienttest results, referral letters NHS/private, paperwork and correspondence in atimely manner; Makingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers within theorganisation; Recordingclear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards; Collectingdata for audit purposes; Compilingand issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoidinghand-written prescriptions whenever possible); Prescribingin accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines. In general,the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. Other responsibilities with the Practice: Supportingteaching and training of doctors and nurses; Awareness ofand compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g.prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, annual QOFAssessment of the Practice. A commitmentto life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice; Contributingto evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation; Contributingto the development of computer-based patient records; Attendingtraining, Practice Meetings and events organised by the practice or otheragencies, where appropriate. Meet alltight timescales/deadlines for audits and written returns to ensure that thePractice meets quality standards and receives the designated funding (e.g.Quarterly Enhanced Services returns, annual QOF audit etc.) Confidentiality In thecourse of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather,sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. Contributeto the development and implementation of new standards, policies and proceduresthat are/ will be required of GP Practices now and in the future (as directedby NHS/ DoH/ ICB, new legislation etc Person Specification Experience Recent experience of working in general practice in the UK. Commitment to and experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary and skill mixed team environment. Experience of working to achieve standards within the Quality and Outcome Framework (QOF). Evidence of independent working in General Practice. Experience of supporting service change Teaching of GP Reg/F2/Medical students/Nursing students. Evidence of participation in QOF. Evidence of participation in Audit. Knowledge Knowledge of NHS. Have an understanding of the needs of the vulnerable groups of patients that are registered. Understanding/knowledge of: Quality & Outcomes Framework (QOF). Demand management. Read codes Qualifications A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003. Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983. Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training CCT). Currently on a PCSE performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register. DBS clearance. Have had an annual NHS appraisal. Evidence of further postgraduate educational activities in relevant fields. MRCGP. DRCOG. DFSRFH & Competence in Coil insertion. Evidence of CPD activities. Minor surgery skills.
