An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and flexible salaried GP to join West Leeds Family Practice a to work between 4 - 6 sessions per week.The expected start date is May 2026 but the sucessful candidate may be able to start earlier. The practice is based over 3 sites all close to each other. Our supportive team are well established, friendly, hardworking and dedicated to providing a good experience for the patient and a pleasant working environment. The opportunity is available to both newly qualified and experienced GPs who want to work in a forward thinking training practice. We are continuously looking to improve what we do and value innovative and new ways of working.Main duties of the jobJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashionMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessDeveloping care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocolsAdmitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriateRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateIn general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.About usWest Leeds Family Practice is a forward thinking professional organisation, we have an opportunity for the right candidate to join our outstanding GP Practice. We are a high achieving QOF Practice.We have 21,000 patients and a large team of GP's Nurses HCA and administration.We are a Training Practice for both GP Registrars and Leeds University Medical Students.We have the following in house services for our patients:1. Family planning service providers for both Implants and Coil devices2. Minor surgery including joint injections3. Paramedic home visiting team support5. Social Prescribers and Occupational Therapists6. Physio First service7. Ultrasound scanning8.
