Job Summary
A Salaried GP works as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care while complying with the contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relation with the multidisciplinary team. The role is to support, mentor, and supervise other healthcare professionals within the organisation and be an integral part of the general practice team.
Main Duties
Delivery of highly effective medical care
Provision of services commensurate with primary care contract
Clinically examine/assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, plan clinical care, referring patients and generic prescribing utilising Practice and other local guidelines
Prioritise health problems and interventions to assist patients in complex or emergency situations
Management of long-term conditions
Support patients to adopt health promotion
Timely and accurate administration
Review medications following appropriate policies, guidelines and local pathways
Work collaboratively
Support delivery of anticipatory care plans
Contribute to successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area or the QOF
Attend practice meetings
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the practice
Be aware of responsibilities regarding current legislation and adhere to practice policies and procedures on Safeguarding Adults and Children
Compliance with appraisal and revalidation process to remain fit to work
Review/adhere to practice protocols and policies

About Us
Prospect Medical Practice currently employs approximately 25 staff of mixed skill set including GPs, a PA, nurses, Management team, secretaries, administrators and receptionists. We have a patient list of approximately 7000. The practice is situated in the north of the city, midway between the outer and inner ring roads, occupying a prominent corner location on Aylsham Road/Penn Grove, approximately 1 mile from the heart of Norwich City. The area is mainly residential and consists of a mix of privately owned and council properties. The premises are modern, welcoming, with easy access via automatic doors and were purpose built in 1993 on the site of a public house named The Prospect. Our catchment area includes part of Catton and Sprowston, Hellesdon, Earlham and Mile Cross. We take part in regular research projects and are also a teaching practice, currently teaching GP registrars and medical students. The practice offers staff the Real Living Wage, facilities such as kitchen area with microwave/toaster/kettle, various social events, a vibrant, bustling and collaborative working environment with opportunities for career development.

Primary Responsibilities
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

Review medications following the appropriate policies, NICE/local clinical guidelines and local care pathways
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans

Qualified GP
MRCGP
Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP

Experience (Essential):
Ability to both work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Experience of working in a primary care environment
Experience of providing home visits

Clinical knowledge and skills
Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP

Good MS Office and clinical system IT knowledge (System One)

Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
