Description
As an ETRM Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the sales and business development efforts of our cross-asset portfolio and risk management platform with a focus on our energy and commodities client segment.
Our platform is API-enabled, cloud-ready, and designed to provide best-in-class cross-asset, cross-instrument trade booking & lifecycle management, real time P&L, P&L explain, risk analytics, confirmations & reconciliations and overall portfolio management to our target clients of banks, hedge funds and energy trading firms. You will work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to demonstrate the value of our technology to prospective clients and help drive revenue growth.
Your primary responsibility will be to understand client requirements, provide tailored demonstrations, and articulate with Sales how our solutions can address their business needs. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will bridge the gap between client challenges and the technical capabilities of our platform, ensuring a seamless pre-sales / sales engineering experience.
Through detailed product demos and presentations, occasional proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements, and technical deep dives, you will empower prospects to make informed decisions while shaping our go-to-market strategy with valuable client insights. Your work will directly impact sales success, client satisfaction, and the overall growth of the company.
This role requires strong financial markets knowledge in the energy & commodities space, technical acumen, and excellent communication skills. You will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to showcase our platform's potential and competitive advantages.
Responsibilities
- [Sales Engineering Strategy & Execution] Support the sales team in developing and executing strategies that position our platform as the leading solution in the energy & commodities space.
- [Sales Engineering Strategy & Execution] Conduct pre-and post-demo in-depth discovery sessions to understand client workflows, pain points, and technology requirements. Protect Product Management, Engineering and Development resources to the “last mile” of deals.
- [Sales Engineering Strategy & Execution] Tailor product demonstrations to showcase the platform’s value proposition effectively.
- [Sales Engineering Strategy & Execution] Contribute and maintain standard tools for effective pre-sales activities, including call reports submission and distribution in Hubspot or other CRM tools, maintenance of a Demo Database which includes positions, trades and market data, Demo Scripts for various use cases, enrichment and validation of the RFI/RFP database, and other tools for the effective operations
- [Sales Engineering Strategy & Execution] Assist Sales in the population and enrichment of the Deal Term Sheet that represents the foundational terms of the legal contract between Orchestrade and the client.
- [Client Engagement & Revenue Growth] Build strong relationships with prospective clients, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the pre-sales process.
- [Client Engagement & Revenue Growth] Act as the point person whilst collaborating with sales and product teams to craft compelling proposals and respond to RFPs/RFIs.
- [Technical Expertise & Product Demonstration] Develop and deliver high-quality product presentations, highlighting functionality and coverage of our platform.
- [Technical Expertise & Product Demonstration] Occasionally lead PoCs (these are typically quite rare), ensuring a smooth and impactful evaluation process for potential clients.
- [Market & Competitive Intelligence] Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and competitor offerings to refine our sales approach.
- [Market & Competitive Intelligence] Provide feedback to product and engineering teams to help drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- [Cross-Functional Collaboration] Work closely with marketing, sales, and implementation teams to align messaging, sales materials, and client onboarding processes.
- [Cross-Functional Collaboration] Partner with engineering and development teams to ensure client requirements are effectively translated into product enhancements.
- [Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement] Identify and implement best practices in the pre-sales process to improve efficiency and client engagement.
- [Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement] Regularly assess and refine demo environments, PoC frameworks, and client-facing documentation to enhance the pre-sales experience.
- [Team Player] Communicate knowledge with others and adhere to company tools and policies.
