Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Sample Machinist to join our team, working on high-quality garments from concept through to finished sample.

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

• Highly experienced in dressmaking, with the ability to construct garments from scratch to a high standard.

• Strong understanding of garment construction, including collars, zip insertion, and gathering net and delicate fabrics.

• Confident working with a wide range of fabrics, with a clear understanding of seam allowances and specialist pressing requirements.

• Experienced in cutting dress patterns accurately, ensuring precision and consistency.

• Good knowledge of fabric types and grain lines, with the ability to cut fabric in the correct direction.

• Skilled in the use of professional steam irons, with experience in industrial and professional pressing techniques.

• Competent in operating industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently.

• Knowledgeable in threading professional sewing machines correctly.

• Able to adjust machine tensions and stitch lengths to suit different fabrics and garment requirements.

• High attention to detail and commitment to producing well-finished, high-quality samples.

• Able to work independently while managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
