Job Description

MERITUS are recruiting for a Satellite Electrical Engineer to join our client on an initial 6 month contract with very likely extensions thereafter. Overtime is available and there might be travel to Oxford involved in the position.\n\nSATELLITE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - £45 PER HOUR - STEVENAGE - 6 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS\n\nResponsibilities\n\nMaintenance and fault finding of electronic/RF test racks.\nComputer system and networks administration.\nProgramming and scripting languages.\nEnvironmental and launch test campaign.\nPreparing test specifications for test racks, reviewing data packs from suppliers, and supporting reviews of test equipment design and non-conformances.Skill Set\n\nEssential\n\nMinimum of a degree in an Electrical Engineering related discipline or relevant experience in a similar role >5 years\nGood theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic and RF test racks\nFault finding skills down to board and component level.\nNetwork and computer administration in Windows and Linux environments\nGood documentation skills (procedures, reports etc.)\nKnowledge of interfaces such as Mil-1553, SpaceWire, CAN bus, RS232/422 etc.\nATE environments such as PCI, VXI, PXI etc.\nCompetent in the use of a variety of general-purpose lab test equipment\nKnowledge of test systems.\nDesign, manufacture, and commissioning of test systems.\nWilling to support shifts and travel overseas on test campaigns as required.Desirable\n\nExperience of electrical integration of equipment on a spacecraft.\nWorking knowledge of TMTC Databases.\nWriting test sequences/scripts for execution of spacecraft systems tests including FDIR from the Central Checkout System (CCS).\nExperience of environmental and launch test campaigns.\nFamiliar with the Windows and Linux operating systems.\nProgramming and scripting languages, in particularly writing and debugging Linux/Unix bash scripts is an advantage. Knowledge of a programming such as C, Java, python, TCL, VBA
