We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking School Caretaker to join our friendly and dedicated team at a thriving secondary school in Newham.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our school site is safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors.

Your responsibilities will include:

Opening and closing the school premises

Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks

Ensuring the security of the buildings and grounds

Monitoring health and safety compliance across the site

Assisting with setting up rooms and equipment for events and exams

Liaising with contractors and reporting any major repair needs

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have previous caretaking, site management, or maintenance experience (school experience desirable)

Possess good practical DIY skills

Have a strong understanding of health and safety procedures

Be organised, dependable, and able to work independently

Have good communication skills and a flexible approach to work
