Job Overview

CCS are working on behalf of a high-performing, co-educational secondary school seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join their site team. The successful candidate will help ensure the school environment is safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain cleanliness, safety, and security across the school site

* Carry out basic repairs and general maintenance tasks

* Complete regular health & safety and site checks

* Set up rooms, halls, and equipment for school activities and events

* Support site security and report any issues promptly

* Assist contractors and visitors on site when required

* Respond to urgent maintenance or emergency situations

* Follow all safeguarding and school site procedures

Requirements

* Previous experience in a caretaker, site assistant, or maintenance role (school experience desirable)

* Good understanding of health & safety practices

* Basic maintenance and DIY skills

* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* An in-date Enhanced DBS is a must

Desirable

* Experience working within an educational setting

* Understanding of school safeguarding procedures

* Basic trade skills (plumbing, joinery, electrics)
