Were looking for an experienced and dedicated School Chef Manager to lead the catering operation at a vibrant school in Bermondsey, SE16. Youll oversee the daily running of the kitchen, preparing fresh, high-quality meals for up to 900 daily servings (with approximately 1,200 students and staff in total). You'll manage a team of 5 General Assistants , delivering Breakfast, Break, and Lunch services each day. Key Responsibilities Plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals that meet school food standards

Lead, motivate, and manage a team of 5 kitchen staff

Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen procedures

Manage stock control, ordering, and kitchen budgets effectively

Work closely with school leadership to tailor menus and respond to dietary needs

Promote a friendly and inclusive environment in the dining space

Deliver high-quality service across breakfast, break, and lunch each day

About You Were looking for someone who: Has experience in high-volume catering, ideally in a school or education setting

Demonstrates strong leadership, organisation, and time-management skills

Is passionate about healthy eating and understands the role of nutrition in learning and development

Is reliable, proactive, and able to build good relationships with both staff and students

Holds relevant food safety and kitchen management qualifications
