Are you a passionate and adaptable Science Teacher with QTS? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Science Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Tonbridge. This role offers the opportunity to teach and inspire learners with a diverse range of additional needs, helping them engage with the Science curriculum in a meaningful, accessible, and creative way.
About the School This well-resourced SEN school supports students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and mild to moderate learning difficulties. The team prides itself on providing a nurturing, therapeutic learning environment where young people can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role As the school's SEN Science Teacher, you will:
Deliver differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
Adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of SEN learning profiles
Break down complex scientific concepts into accessible, engaging content
Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in the classroom
Work collaboratively with the SENCO, therapists, and support staff
Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
Contribute to whole-school activities, enrichment programmes, and cross-curricular projects
What We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
Experience teaching Science at KS3/KS4 (SEN experience highly desirable)
A flexible, creative, and student-centred approach
Strong behaviour management rooted in empathy and consistency
Passion for supporting students with additional needs
Ability to tailor curriculum content and assessment to individual learners
