Job Description

Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation in Troon, is currently looking to recruit a Seasonal Gardener for initial 6 month contract on a rate of £13.79/hour PAYE working 36 hours per week, Monday Thursday. These roles will be based onsite in Girvan.
Responsibilities:
  • General maintenance including grass cutting and ground maintenance
  • Assisting higher graded gardeners under minimal supervision
  • Following oral and written instructions from the Chargehand and Foreman
  • Operation of ground care equipment powered hand tools, ride on plant machinery including inspection, routine maintenance and cleaning
  • Implement good Health & Safety Practices & Standards in the workplace
  • To apply and adhere to policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, external policy and safe practices
  • To carry out such other duties consistent with the post if and when required or instructed
Essential Skills:
  • Able to work as part of a small team
  • Able to adapt within a flexible working environment
  • Ability to meet the standards of performance required under the Values and Behaviours of the organisation
  • Experience of communicating effectively with colleagues and members of the public
  • Experience of customer care
  • Experience of problem solving within the working environment
  • Experience in working in all weather conditions
  • Experience of operating mechanised ground care equipment
  • Proven Technical Understanding of Horticultural and grounds maintenance practice
