The Role

As an SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help students access the curriculum and develop important life skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups within lessons
Helping students understand and complete classroom tasks
Providing additional support for students with SEN
Using visual aids, structured routines, and adapted resources
Supporting students with organisation, focus, and engagement
Encouraging positive behaviour and confidence in learning
Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson preparation
Helping students develop social and communication skills
Every day will bring new opportunities to support students and celebrate their progress.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

Patient, empathetic and resilient
Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
Able to build positive relationships with students
Calm and confident in challenging situations
A strong team player with excellent communication skills
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, autism, ADHD or learning difficulties is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
