Section Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to support delivery of works on the high-profile Net Zero Teesside scheme. This is a major infrastructure project contributing to the UK's decarbonisation strategy and energy transition goals.The Section Engineer will take responsibility for a defined section of works, coordinating site engineers, subcontractors, plant and materials to ensure safe, compliant and programme-driven delivery.Role ResponsibilitiesAs Section Engineer, you will:Take ownership of a specific section of works from planning through to completionCoordinate and supervise Site Engineers working within your sectionPlan and organise labour, materials and plant requirementsLiaise with subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in line with programme and specificationMonitor daily progress and address technical or logistical issuesEnsure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and tolerancesMaintain accurate site records, diaries and documentationOversee Quality Assurance (QA) processes, inspections and testingEnsure ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans) are implemented and completed correctlySupport temporary works coordination where requiredPromote and enforce high standards of health, safety and environmental complianceRaise and manage technical queries (TQs) and interface with design teamsSkills & ExperienceProven experience working as a Section Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on major infrastructure or heavy civils projectsStrong knowledge of QA procedures and site documentation processesExperience coordinating engineers, subcontractors and site logisticsAbility to interpret complex technical drawings and specificationsGood understanding of programme management and sequencing of worksStrong communication and leadership skillsProactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolutionExperience on energy, industrial, heavy civils or large-scale infrastructure schemes is desirable.Qualifications (Desirable)Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related disciplineCSCS Card (appropriate level)SMSTS or SSSTSTemporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator (advantageous)What's on OfferOpportunity to work on a nationally significant low-carbon infrastructure projectLong-term project exposure within a major delivery environmentCollaborative team cultureCompetitive salary or day rate (depending on experience)Career progression opportunities within large-scale infrastructure deliveryJBRP1_UKTJ
