SEMH Teacher

A school in Norfolk is seeking a skilled and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people who face social, emotional and mental health challenges. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a SEMH Teacher:
Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual needs.
Create a nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils feel safe and valued.
Use trauma-informed and restorative approaches to support behaviour and engagement.
Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to promote positive outcomes.
Track progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet pupils’ social, emotional, and academic needs.
Ideal SEMH Teacher:
Is a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with a passion for inclusive education.
Has experience (or a strong interest) in working with pupils with SEMH needs.
Demonstrates strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills as a SEMH Teacher.
Is resilient, patient, and reflective with a calm and consistent approach.
Can inspire trust, build relationships, and bring out the best in every learner.
