Are you passionate about supporting young people who need a different approach to education? We are recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive alternative provision in Burgess Hill.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role:

Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner

Help deliver tailored learning activities to meet individual needs

Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support engagement and progress

Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to provide consistent support

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour

Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience

A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach

Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations

Team Teach or similar training is desirable (but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
