End Date: 24 July 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time – Until the End of the Academic Year (with potential to become permanent)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 3:30pm
Daily Rate: £100 – £105 (PAYE)

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in South Norwood. This is a full-time opportunity for the remainder of the academic year, with the possibility of securing a permanent contract for the right individual.

The provision supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Students may display challenging behaviours and require patient, consistent and structured support to help them engage successfully in their learning.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils with SEMH needs

*

Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management

*

Work alongside the class teacher to adapt and deliver engaging lessons

*

Apply clear and consistent behaviour strategies

*

Develop positive, professional relationships with students

*

Encourage confidence, resilience and social development

Candidate Requirements

*

Previous experience within an SEMH, SEN, PRU or alternative provision setting (essential)

*

Strong and confident behaviour management skills

*

Calm, patient and flexible approach

*

Ability to remain resilient when managing challenging behaviour
