SEN Learning Support Assistant Southampton
Prospero Teaching is looking for a patient, supportive, and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join welcoming schools in Southampton. This role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and social-emotional challenges. Your role will be to help pupils feel secure, confident, and able to access learning in a structured and nurturing environment. You'll work with teachers and SEN staff to deliver personalised support that makes a genuine difference to each child's progress and daily experience. The Role: Provide 1:1 and small-group support for children with SEND Help students stay focused, manage emotions, and build independence Support personalised learning activities and adapted classroom tasks Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and social development Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and pastoral teams Contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment Offer reassurance, structure, and consistent guidance throughout the school day
