Role: Teaching Assistant (SEN/SEMH)\nLocation: Northampton\nStart Date: ASAP and ongoing recruitment\nContract Type: Full-time\nSalary: £90 - £100 per day \n\nAre you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?\n\nAbout the Role:\nAs a Teaching Assistant in the SEN/SEMH unit, you will be working with students who have a variety of additional learning needs, including SEN and SEMH. You will support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning experiences, manage challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner, and help create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.\nYou will be working alongside a passionate team of educators and specialists, contributing to the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and helping students to achieve personal and academic success.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n* Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities to meet the needs of students with SEN/SEMH.\n* Provide one-on-one support to students, ensuring their engagement and understanding of the curriculum.\n* Help students develop social, emotional, and behavioural skills in a safe and supportive environment.\n* Monitor and track progress, providing feedback and reports as required.\n* Contribute to the creation and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).\n* Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.\n* Work with other professionals, such as therapists and counsellors, to support students' overall well-being.\n\nWhat We Are Looking For:\n* Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN/SEMH needs (experience in a school setting is highly desirable).\n* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.\n* The ability to manage challenging behaviours with a calm and positive attitude.\n* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with students, staff, and parents.\n* A team player who is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.\n* A relevant qualification in education (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.\n\nWho are Aspire People? \nAspire People is the UK's fastest growing education recruitment agency and we specialise in providing teaching and support staff to schools across the Midlands and surrounding regions.
