KS2 SEN Specialist Teacher - Baldock

Specialist SEMH School | Education and Training Sector

Salary: £28,618 - £41,137 per annum (actual)

Contract: Full-Time | Permanent (Temp-to-Perm Considered)

This role is ideal for an experienced SEN teacher or nurture practitioner who is passionate about helping pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs re-engage with education, build emotional resilience, and achieve both academically and personally.

The Role - KS2 SEN Specialist Teacher (Baldock)

As a KS2 SEN Specialist Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, nurture-based teaching to small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs, focusing on emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Apply trauma-informed and attachment-aware practices consistently
  • Plan and deliver personalised learning aligned to individual EHCP outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, pastoral teams, therapists and external professionals
  • Create a calm, structured and predictable classroom environment where pupils feel safe and valued

You will play a pivotal role in building strong, trusting relationships that enable pupils to develop confidence, self-regulation and a renewed enthusiasm for learning.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS or QTLS (desirable), or have substantial experience within an SEN/SEMH setting
  • Have proven experience supporting KS2 pupils with SEMH, trauma or behavioural needs
  • Demonstrate resilience, patience and consistency
  • Be skilled in building positive, restorative relationships
  • Be able to commute to Baldock
  • Be committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
  • Show enthusiasm for continued professional development
