We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teacher in Kirklees to join a supportive and inclusive school environment that prioritises pupil wellbeing and personalised learning.
This SEN Teacher - Kirklees opportunity involves working with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a SEN Teacher in Kirklees, you will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning while building their confidence, independence, and emotional resilience.

The Role - SEN Teacher - Kirklees
As a SEN Teacher in Kirklees, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that support a wide range of learning needs. The role requires a nurturing and patient approach, ensuring that pupils feel safe, encouraged, and motivated to participate in learning.
Your responsibilities as a SEN Teacher - Kirklees will include:
Planning and delivering creative and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, and additional learning needs to access the curriculum
Creating a positive and structured classroom environment where pupils feel safe and supported
Building strong relationships with pupils to help develop confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
Working closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to provide consistent support
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching strategies where necessary
Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and resilience in the classroom
Supporting pupils in developing social and communication skills
The successful SEN Teacher - Kirklees will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience working with special educational needs, particularly ASD or SEMH
A patient, empathetic, and supportive teaching style
The ability to differentiate lessons effectively to meet a variety of learning needs
Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills when working with staff, pupils, and families
A genuine passion for inclusive education and pupil development
