Tradewind are working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist secondary setting in Hillingdon to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teacher for a Key Stage 3 class.

This is a rewarding opportunity to join an outstanding provision supporting students aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties, and additional communication and sensory needs.

About the Role You will lead a small, highly supported KS3 class of 6 students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The class is non-verbal, with students communicating through a range of alternative communication methods, including one student who uses a small number of key words.

This is a very sensory-focused class, with a strong emphasis on communication, engagement, and interaction. The role involves working closely alongside a skilled team of 3 support staff, as well as collaborating with external professionals including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Physiotherapists. Two students in the class are wheelchair users, so experience or confidence supporting physical needs is important.
