Our highly skilled and dedicated team of teachers, teaching assistants and therapists work holistically to get to know every learner and build their education around each unique, individual child.
You will be teaching primary-aged children (511 years) with social, emotional and mental health needs in small class groups.
Our pupils learn with values of safety, belonging and aspiration, supported by a trauma-informed approach and access to therapeutic interventions.

The Role You will: Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching adapted thoughtfully to meet individual SEND needs in a small class setting Use trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to create a safe, nurturing learning environment Manage behaviour with empathy and clear boundaries, helping children feel secure and able to learn Work closely with our therapy team including speech and language therapists and mental health practitioners Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families, promoting personal development and wellbeing Contribute to curriculum development and whole school improvement, upholding our values of safety, belonging and aspiration Maintain accurate pupil records and fulfil all professional responsibilities with care and integrity What You Will Bring Essential A degree or equivalent qualification in a specialist subject Clear understanding of the national curriculum and how to adapt it for pupils with SEND Robust knowledge of behaviour management techniques, theories and their practical application with children with complex needs Sound knowledge of planning and assessment techniques, including personalised learning approaches Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, health and safety and equal opportunities requirements Relevant classroom teaching experience, particularly with young people with wide-ranging and complex needs Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats Confidence using ICT and a variety of teaching resources to plan, deliver and assess outstanding learning Strong teamworking skills and the ability to work collaboratively to deliver a holistic educational package Resilience and the ability to cope with competing emotional demands Excellent time management skills with an adaptable, creative and flexible approach Commitment to self-development and continuous professional learning Desirable Specialist SEND qualifications or training in SEMH, trauma or attachment Experience working in an independent or specialist school setting Knowledge of therapeutic frameworks such as Thrive Working pattern and benefits Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm, with minimal after-hours commitments Friday afternoons are CPD time with no students on site, plus 10 INSET days across the year Therapeutic reflection and twice-daily briefings to support strong practice and consistency Regular offsite outdoor learning and enrichment sessions Hot lunch cooked on site every day Opportunities to collaborate across West Berkshire and with our partnership school, sharing expertise and best practice Life insurance (death in service) 4x basic annual salary Health cash plan (Health Shield) after probation, eligibility applies Training and development induction and mandatory training, plus CPD, therapeutic support and further qualifications Free holiday accommodation company holiday home on the south coast Discounts Blue Light Card and local partner discounts Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) free, confidential 24/7 support helpline Company pension with an award-winning provider and enhanced employer contributions Company sick pay scheme after 6 months service Electric car scheme and Cycle to Work salary sacrifice options Recognition Employee of the Month and long service awards Discounted driving lessons with a local instructor Referral bonus scheme financial incentives for successful referrals (criteria apply) Equality and Diversity Amegreen is committed to being an organisation where people can be their authentic selves in a safe and inclusive environment.
