SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary (Autism Support)Location: Aspire PeopleContract: Full TimeAspire People are recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within a secondary setting in B12, starting April 2026.This role will involve working closely with a student with Autism who is non-verbal and may display perceived challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will provide consistent, patient and supportive 1:1 assistance to help the student access learning and feel secure within the school environment.Providing 1:1 support for a student with Autism in a secondary school setting Supporting a non-verbal student using appropriate communication strategies Helping to manage and respond calmly to perceived challenging behaviour Supporting engagement with learning and daily school routines Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN teamThe ideal candidate will: Have experience supporting students with Autism and additional needs Be calm, patient and resilient Have experience supporting non-verbal communication (PECS, visual supports or similar is desirable.
