Primary SEN Teaching Assistant Job Title: SEND TA Area: Rochdale, Manchester Start Date: Monday 23 March 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time Salary : £105.00 - £140.00 per day (depending on experience) Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm About the school: We are partnering with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rochdale that is looking to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team as soon as possible. This full-time position involves supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, including children with a range of additional needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and communication challenges. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are important, as developing positive relationships with pupils plays a vital role in supporting their social development and engagement with learning. About the role as a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant : Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs Promote emotional regulation, independence, and positive routines throughout the school day What We're Looking For from a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant : Experience supporting children with SEND (in a school or care setting) Strong understanding of Autism and SEND Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application Provide two professional child related references Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy.
