SEN Teaching Assistant – L5 Area | Immediate Start

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support + General Classroom Support in KS1)
Location: L5, Liverpool
Start Date: February 2026
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only

A friendly and inclusive primary school in the L5 area is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start in February 2026. This full-time role will involve providing 1:1 support for a child with additional needs in the morning and offering general support to the KS1 class in the afternoon.

About the Role:

Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with SEN during morning sessions

Assist in managing routines, learning activities, and transitions

In the afternoons, support the wider classroom under the guidance of the class teacher

Help create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment

Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and other professionals

The Ideal Candidate:

Has experience working 1:1 with children with SEND (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH)

Is calm, patient, and supportive in approach

Holds a relevant TA qualification (Level 2/3 preferred)

Has excellent communication and teamwork skills

Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
