Your new company
Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a Winsford-based single form entry primary school as they require an experienced and qualified teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year. This is a full-time position based in a designated SEMH provision.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will work collaboratively with a the class teacher and SENCO to promote the engagement and learning of your new pupils. The class you will be working is at full capacity with a small group with individual ECHP’s with varying levels of SEMH. You will lead on 1:1 support, delivering a trauma-informed curriculum and tailoring your approach to best suit individual emotional & attainment needs as well as personalities, you will:
Delivering well-being and mindfulness sessions to boost confidence and self-esteem
Support with ELSA interventions
Use extensive positive reinforcement and strategies to promote engagement
Regularly liaise with the SENCO on pupil progress, further requirements and key milestones
What you need to succeed
Full “Right to Work” in the UK
Referenceable experience supporting children and young people (classroom based is preferrable)
Experience supporting SEMH and/or behavioural needs
An Enhanced Children’s DBS check or willing to undergo
An NVQ Level 2 xehkeey Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
