Are You an Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with Strong SEMH & ADHD Experience in Skipton?

Academics is seeking a resilient, patient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support SEN and mainstream schools across Skipton. This flexible opportunity is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who thrives on building strong relationships, providing structure and consistency, and making a genuine difference in pupils' academic and emotional development.

The Role - SEN Teacher (SEMH/ADHD Specialist)

As an SEN Teaching Assistant with Academics, you will:

• Support pupils with SEMH needs and ADHD on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Implement behaviour management strategies in line with EHCPs and school policies
• Help pupils develop emotional regulation skills and positive coping strategies
• Provide classroom support to ensure pupils remain engaged and focused
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
• Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and resilience
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

• Previous experience supporting children with SEMH and ADHD
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach
• Ability to build positive and xbpsjku professional relationships with pupils and staff
• A genuine passion for supporting children's wellbeing and development
• Flexibility to work across different school settings
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
