SEN Teaching Assistant (SENTA)

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
* Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lesson plans and adapting learning materials
* Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
* Help manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
* Encourage engagement and participation in classroom activities
* Support with personal care where required
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
Requirements:
* Minimum of 1 year’s experience working with SEN pupils
* At least 1 year of experience working within a UK school setting
* Strong understanding of SEN needs, including Autism and ADHD
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable:
* Relevant qualifications in education or childcare
* Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs
* Training in behaviour management or safeguarding
