SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Pay: £95.25 – £109.34 per day (dependent on experience)
Location: Darlaston
Hours: Typical school hours (e.g. 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Contract: Full-time or part-time opportunities available

Smart Education is currently recruiting for enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a primary school in Darlaston. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s learning and development within a positive and inclusive school environment.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils in the classroom. You may provide general classroom support, assist with small group activities, or work 1:1 with pupils who require additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with small groups of SEN children

Some SEN 1:1 work

Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities

Working with pupils individually or in small groups to support learning

Helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment

Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and participation

Supporting behaviour management and promoting positive conduct

Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources

What We’re Looking For:

Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience)

SEN experience

Experience working with children in a school or educational setting

A patient, caring, and supportive approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A proactive and adaptable attitude
