We are currently looking for a motivated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Cannock. This is a full-time position starting in April 2026, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with additional learning needs and helping them access the curriculum effectively.

Your key responsibilities:

Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs

*

Assisting the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging, differentiated lessons

*

Modifying learning materials and activities to meet individual learning and behavioural needs

*

Promoting confidence, independence, and active participation in classroom activities

*

Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide consistent and effective support

The Ideal Candidate

We are keen to hear from individuals who are passionate about supporting children and making a positive difference in an inclusive school environment.

Graduates or final-year students from any academic discipline are encouraged to apply

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided

A patient, understanding, and resilient approach when supporting pupils with additional needs

Strong communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work well as part of a team
