Autism Support Teaching Assistant - Primary SettingLocation: RugbyContract Type: Full-Time, Term Time OnlyPay: Competitive, based on experience and qualificationsWe are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to join a primary school in Rugby. This role offers the opportunity to work within a caring and inclusive environment where every child is supported to achieve their potential.Role OverviewAs an Autism Support Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted assistance to primary-aged pupils with additional needs, helping them to engage positively with learning and school life. Working alongside class teachers and the SENCO, you will contribute to delivering personalised support that promotes academic progress and emotional wellbeing.Your responsibilities will include:Providing dedicated 1:1 and small group intervention supportAdapting classroom activities to meet individual learning needsSupporting communication, social skills, and emotional regulationImplementing strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plansEncouraging independence and positive behaviourContributing to pupil progress reviews and team discussionsThe Successful Candidate Will:Have experience working with children with autism in a primary school environmentDemonstrate knowledge of effective ASC strategies, including structured routines and visual aidsBe calm, patient, and resilientWork effectively as part of a teamHold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)Understand safeguarding responsibilities and child protection proceduresWhat's On OfferA supportive and collaborative school teamOpportunities for ongoing SEND-focused trainingA positive working environment with strong leadershipA rewarding position supporting children to thrive both academically and sociallyIf you are committed to inclusive education and have the skills to support children with autism in reaching their full potential, we welcome your application.Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
