The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide focused 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with PMLD. Your role will involve helping the pupil access the curriculum, supporting emotional regulation and encouraging positive interactions with peers. The successful candidate will be nurturing, supportive and proactive, using tailored strategies to meet the pupil's individual needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support plans and behaviour strategies that help the pupil stay engaged and make progress. Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly PMLD, is highly desirable.

This nurturing SEN school is based in Bexley and is within walking distance of a nearby train station. The school currently has 72 pupils aged 5-19 years old. Staff work hard to create a supportive, inclusive and engaging environment where every child feels valued, safe and motivated to succeed. The school provides strong support for pupils with additional needs, including SEMH and ADHD, and has been graded 'Good' by Ofsted.
