Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School (Autism Focus)
Location: Oldham

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with autism? We are a welcoming and inclusive secondary SEN school seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Work closely with pupils aged 11-16 with autism and associated needs

Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to help students access learning

Support communication, emotional regulation, and social development

Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, structured lessons

Help create a calm, safe, and nurturing learning environment

About You

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children or young people with autism (school or care settings)

Is patient, empathetic, and resilient

Understands the importance of routines, consistency, and positive behaviour support

Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team

Holds (or is willing to work towards) relevant SEN or education qualifications
