Setting: Secondary School (Ages 11–16), Small Class Sizes

About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally. Your daily responsibilities will include:
Supporting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
Providing individual and small-group support for students with SEN and SEMH needs
Working with pupils who have PMLD and complex needs
Using strategies to help students regulate emotions and manage behaviour
Encouraging a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture
Promoting students’ social, emotional, and mental well-being
Collaborating closely with teaching staff to ensure the best outcomes for every learner
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Be resilient, patient, and calm under pressure
Have experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly those with SEN or SEMH needs
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be adaptable, proactive, and able to respond to individual pupil needs
Be passionate about safeguarding and supporting young people
Show genuine care for the welfare, development, and well-being of students
The school is seeking someone who can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff alike—someone who shows initiative, empathy, and a true commitment to helping each student reach their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
