What You’ll Be Doing as an SEN TA in Ellesmere Port You’ll work closely with pupils who have a variety of special educational needs, including: Autism and communication differences Learning delays or global developmental delay SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs Sensory processing challenges Non-verbal or limited communication Physical or mobility needs requiring adapted support Your day-to-day responsibilities may include: Providing 1:1 personalised support aligned with each pupil’s EHCP Assisting small groups with structured learning tasks or interventions Using visuals, communication tools and supportive teaching strategies Helping pupils regulate emotions using calm, trauma-informed approaches Encouraging engagement in lessons, routines and social activities Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and pastoral staff Creating a predictable, nurturing environment where pupils can feel safe, valued and understood This is a deeply rewarding role where you can make a long-lasting difference to the lives of children who truly benefit from consistent, caring support.
