SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Waltham Forest Pay: £95 - £115 per day Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent Start Date: 27th April 2026 Commutable from: Redbridge, Newham, Hackney, Haringey, and Enfield.

Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position within a specialist SEN school in Waltham Forest. This role involves working closely with students who have complex needs, providing vital support to help them navigate their educational journey in a safe and nurturing environment. This contract is designed to transition from a temporary start to a permanent position, offering long-term stability in a rewarding setting.

Responsibilities

Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with complex physical, medical, and learning needs. Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and supporting pupils in meeting their EHCP targets. Facilitating communication and social engagement using specialist tools where required. Supporting personal care and mobility requirements with dignity and respect. Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student welfare.
